Cowgirl Rendezvous- A Weekend to Remember

…And Books, Too book Signing with Judy the the owner.

This past weekend Paty Jagar, Janet Chester Bly, Deanna Jewel, and I had an uplifting time at …And Book, Too! In Clarkston, Wa. chatting about writing, marketing and publishing. And we managed to sell some books as well. Yet the fun didn’t stop there. That night we crossed the bridge that hovers over the Snake River and managed to meander our way into Hell’s Gate State Park.

We were looking for ladies with their vintage, theme painted trailers. I scanned the park for Betsy Ross and caught a glimpse of Ruby Red. Various trailers were parked in their spots, shining with pride like models on a runway. They had actually been in the Lewiston Round-Up parade than afternoon.

Seeing the table set out for dinner, I slowly pushed on the brakes, allowing my mother close access as she was fresh off the surgeon’s table from foot surgery. My aunt followed books in hand. Not only was this a book signing weekend for me, it was ladies weekend out for all three of us. Pool, hot tub and of course a Rendezvous with cowgirls. Aw how relaxing.

We authors set out our books, pamphlets and book marks, a display of our hard work yet we were aglow with pride for our babies as a mother is to her newborn. Pictures were taken and snippets declared. What a night of food, fun and music. Shayne and Alane Watkins of BEARGRASS were there once again at the campfire, strumming and sharing their stories in song.

Dinner was over and sales were made. What a great weekend with such warm and caring ladies. I have made a new friend as we found out we share the same publisher. She is not only a Rendezvous Cowgirl, but an author sister at heart.

I can’t wait for yet another Rendezvous with these amazing ladies.
